I'm Tyler Parsons, and we're here for another episode of The Body Fix.
Today what we're going to do is check out those ankles and calves.
So, any tightness downing through here is really going to limit how the rest of the body is going to respond because it's not moving properly.
But, a lot of what everybody is talking up now is the ground force, and how that body is pushing and reacting.
So again, if it's limited we are not going to be able to load up properly, whether that be, over on the right side, toe heel, more important as we got through we are not going to be able to push and run because again it's restricted.
It's not working through.
So, a really simple fix for us today, we are going to do, I just have a danbo on the ground, we are going to take that toe up to where is going to pre-stretch that muscle and I'm just going to drag that knee into it.
So, I'm throwing a stretch down to my achilles and calves.
From here what I'm going to do, is now squad down.
Now it's starting to really scream and get nice and tight.
We'll hold for a couple seconds, come up, go to the other side, do the same thing.
So, by pre-stretching it's already making it tight so as we go through more into motion it's already pulling and then we squad down and go a little deeper and we are finding any of that tightness working through it.
At the worst what I like and always have people do, is set their air and go down and just do a a little bit of a half squad to where they're not parallel to the ground, and see through if there's any more tightness.
Usually the answer is yes, so what we'll do is basically use a foam roller, and we want to go through and break up all that [inaudible 00:01:37].
So, get that foam roller, lay down, if you want to use a handle go through.
We are going to pretty much paint this entire area, go around the side, the back, the front, anywhere that's tight, hammer that out.
This is really going to help.
Make those ankles and calves work more efficient and your swing will help you produce more power.
