Golf Fundamentals: Draw

Speaker 1: One of the things I get asked all the time by amateur golfers is how to draw the golf ball.

There's a couple adjustments that you can make in your setup and then a couple adjustments you can make in your motion that will facilitate a nice high draw.

Here's what they are.

Start by bumping the ball a little bit back in your stance.

That will allow you to hit the ball a little more from the inside and allow you to get path going out to the right of the target, which will help curve the ball to the left.

The other adjustment you want to make is turn your grip slightly stronger on the club and this will help to close the club face, which will help produce that nice draw that you're striving for.

The final thing to think about is as you go back, make sure your left shoulder gets turned all the way back, behind the golf ball.

That will give you more time to release the club, and will allow you to hit a powerful high draw that hopefully ends up real close to the hole.
