Tyler Parsons: Hey again, Tyler Parsons, your club head speed guru.
I've had a privilege of working with some of the fastest players out on tour as well as hitting against some of the fastest players in the world in long drive.
What are they doing that you possibly aren't? What you notice with a lot of them is that lower body and not necessarily the strength, but the power they're producing.
How those two are different is strength is going to be how can they actually set there and press versus power is how quickly can they move.
You really see all those [big 00:00:33] hitters going here and they're starting to explode.
It almost looks like they're jumping off the ground, have a lot of extension in through their back as well as those legs really pushing him up.
One of the simple ways for you to be able to improve on this is to do an exercise, such as a curtsy squat, [toward 00:00:52] down this hip's going out, it's loading so we're getting that glut max as well as that glut knee loaded up and we're simply back up.
Again, it's focusing on one leg so we can really build up some strength there.
Now, if we want to take this to the next level, what we can do is simply [inaudible 00:01:09] down and explode up, so we're loading, we're back up.
As we go down, we're hitting that [stretch-shortening 00:01:15], then we're having to forcefully and quickly, which is the important part, jump up.
Again, we're down, we're up, then you can switch legs.
A lot of you are probably going to struggle on one leg versus the other.
That's all right.
Through repetition, we should build that up.
Work on this, help yourself improve more power and hit longer drives off the tee.
