Tyler Parsons: What's up again YouTube? Tyler Parsons again.
Today we're going to look at how we can work on the shoulders because it's all going to be about again, how the body's going to work and function for the golf swing.
That's what we're doing.
I have very light weight, three pounds, and one of the big things we want to look at is how a player can externally rotate their arm, both right and left.
Now, for a right handed golfer we want this right to be past spine angle.
More importantly whenever they drop down into the golf posture, where does it get to? Are we losing that range of motion or again, is back there nice and deep? Easy way for you to check, you can go through.
If you have some restrictions or solely just want to work on it, here's the exercise for you.
What we're going to do is we're going to start and I'm going to put it down on the opposite hip and I'm going to come up and I'm going to rotate this up and back.
So, that as I'm coming up I'm trying to get my arm parallel to the ground, externally rotate that back.
Get a nice little stretch.
We can through and do our set of 10 from there.
Really watch that posture, make sure we're not arching back but staying nice and tall.
Then, what we can do that's really going to help is we're going to go from this golf posture.
I want to up and turn and I'm going to do 10 from that golf posture doing my best not to rotate the shoulders or lose the posture.
Then, whenever I'm finished, I'm going to go and do 10 more and now, I have a nice big turn.
We can think about this shoulder claim.
Whatever it is that you may be working on, if you have a lateral movement in your swing, this is something for you to really focus on but going from there hammering this up.
Then, repeating the same set over on that other side.
So, we have that nice external rotation.
We can then get to the top, make sure that it's set.
Really trying to work back into this rear dealt but also, just stretching everything out, building up some stability, building up a little bit of strength.
Again, help you get into a much better position much easier that way you can start playing better golf today.
