Properly Execute An Uphill/Downhill Lie

Speaker 1: We got an uphill, we got a downhill lie.

Conceptually, the rules are the same.

We want to match our hips and shoulders to the slope.

On a downhill we're going to tilt down the slope.

Uphill, obviously we'd be leaning with the slope.

We want to match or we want to play the ball a little bit towards the higher foot.

On a downhill, we just move it back.

Finally, we're going to swing along the slope.

On either one of these shots, your finish, I want you to have more of a three-quarter finish. Now understand, when you're on an uphill lie, the ball will go higher, it will go shorter.

You must take a little bit more club.

On a downhill lie, the ball, you're delofting that club, it's going to go a little further.

Go ahead and take one less club.

This is key.

Match your hips and shoulders to the slope.

Play the ball towards the higher foot and swing along the slope.
