The Secret to Putting Posture
CJ Goecks: Hey, CJ Goecks from shortgamesecrets.com with your second secret on putting, and that is posture.
All we're going over here ladies and gentlemen is just the fundamentals, your grip, your posture, your ball position, alignment.
Those are really the keys.
I don't care if you're a beginner, these are very important.
If you're a truer player, they're vital.
Let's just talk about your posture.
If we all just stand here and we want to get our feet somewhat squared the best place to do this would be your kitchen where you have tile, maybe even in your bathroom.
You get your feet on the square.
I don't want your feet all angled.
I don't want different angles.
I want everything nice and parallel, nice and tidy.
If you just stand here and just touch the top part of your knees you basically have created the perfect position for golf, for putting.
We're going to be here, we're going to bend over.
Notice when I do that, I can just rest this putter right there, and my head and everything stays still.
I like to call it facing your work.
A lot of times when I see people putt they stand straight up and down.
When they do that their chest gets in the way, their lower body starts moving.
We want to face your work, and by doing that, just bend over.
This allows us to let our arms hang.
It puts our arms in a perfect position to put this putter in front of us where the ball is now over our left eye.
That is the second secret to holing more putts, and that is having the proper posture.
